Trailblazer Level–Grade 12
The Trailblazer Level completes the four-year literary series by presenting an anthology of the best in British literature. Trailblazer follows 1500 years of English literature, enabling students to gain an understanding of the movements and philosophies that have shaped society since 449. The 90+ literary selections featured in Trailblazer include novellas, short stories, novel excerpts, two full-length dramas, essays, epic poetry, ballads, sonnets, elegies, odes, and lyrical poetry. William Shakespeare's Macbeth is presented in the unique TextWord Shakespeare format that enhances students' critical and analytical thinking abilities.

About Implications of Literature
Implications of Literature is an academically rigorous high school literature series that features traditional, values-oriented content. These textbooks create coursework that preserves family values while exposing your high school student to excellent short stories, novellas, drama, novels, and biographical and auto-biographical nonfiction. All stories have been chosen to build character in young minds without moralizing.

Implications of Literature texts are designed to build comprehension, critical and analytical skills. Quizzes, textual sidebars, literary critiques, writing assignments, journaling, grammar, and vocabulary are just a few of Implications of Literature's innovative features. The student text includes an introduction to each genre, with vocabulary clearly explained in footers on nearly every page. The teacher's text includes all of the content of the student text with helpful annotations and suggested answers for assignments.

If you are homeschooling a high schooler and want a literature program that will encourage wholesome values, albeit without religious content, Implications of Literature fills this need with academic excellence and thought-provoking selections. The stories, while not religious, still reflect good precepts and are free of material that would conflict with Christian values.

Additional Students
The Implications of Literature student book is not consumable. Occasional questions appear throughout the text, but these are best answered on a separate paper. Families may choose to have students share student books, but if you have two students using the course simultaneously, they may find it most practical and efficient to each have their own student book.
