In-Depth and Hands-On
Engino STEM Simple Machines is an amazingly in-depth and enjoyable way for your student to get a rich overview of the most common areas of mechanical science. Engino's celebrated components, booklets, and downloadable material combine to create the most remarkable hands-on approach ever available. Experiment with the models to understand how machines actually work, how you can change speed, convert motion, increase or transfer force, and easily move heavy objects. STEM Simple Machines includes detailed background info as well as directions for building nearly 60 working models, including a hand drill, car with reverse turning wheels, a revolving crane, and many other types of machines.

Clear Instructions and Marvelous Explanations
The five activity booklets included in STEM Simple Machines provide marvelous explanations of the different technological principles. In addition, the books discuss related real-life objects and fascinating history from Archimedes to Galileo Galilei, and then prompt structured experiments that develop robust STEM skills. Altogether, the booklets include:

70 pages of theory and amazing facts
25 pages of experimental activities
16 pages of review and quizzes
71 pages of step-by-step pictorial instructions

The booklets offer assembly instructions for 32 models, while instructions for the remaining 26 models can be accessed online. Suitable for a wide age range, an older child can read the lively text to more fully understand the principles, while a younger or non-reading child can construct the models and learn intuitively while building. Colors of the pieces may vary.

Features

Pieces: 280
Faith-based: No

Learn all about the six simple machines: the lever, the wedge, the wheel and axle, the screw, the inclined plane, and the pulley, as well as two mechanisms: the gear and the linkage. Discover how simple machines combine and how every single mechanism that exists today uses at least two of them to do work (which is the reason simple machines are considered to be the "building blocks of machines").

Build Models Such As:

A lever crane
Make a fully working model of a lever crane and learn how it is used for lifting heavy objects without falling over. Compare your model with a real-life one and learn about first-class levers.

A car that turns
Construct this fascinating model of a car with reverse turning wheels and find out in what ways the axle and the wheel connect for different purposes. Learn how the steering wheel is actually a lever.

A multi-position crane
Build this amazing model of a multi-position crane which combines a number of simple machines: pulleys to control the speed with which the crane rotates, gears to revolve it around the base, and many more! This model demonstrates how cranes can be used to transfer huge loads to great heights and with very little effort. This is why they are so useful in construction sites where we need to carry cement blocks and steel bars to the top of very tall buildings!

…And Over 50 Other Models.

CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
